DMV Volleyball Academy will be fielding a team of (11)* skilled U17 players. Our program is expected to be one of the most rigorous training programs in the Region. The team is expected to be a competitive "CLUB" level team which will compete in selected multi-day tournaments and local AAU and CHRVA tournaments (Refer to tentative schedule below).
The U17 team is expected to practice twice per week. During the training months of November and December as well as on non-tournament weekends from January thru May, the Club may also hold "Academy" which will focus on specific skills (i.e. serving, passing, setting, team defense etc). Academy will be run by special instructors or by DMV Volleyball Academy coaches.
Our club is working to create a competitive environments for players to learn and reach their maximum potential. When understanding our club fees use these points to consider, practice time, coaches, and cost for tournaments.
* At the discretion of the club 1 or 2 "practice players" will be considered depending on the circumstances of the team. Practice players will not participate in any matches or tournaments unless specifically called upon by the Head Coach.
Coach Lisa (USAV IMPACT Certified) a volleyball enthusiast with a journey spanning over two decades, is driven by her deep passion for the sport. Born and raised in Lucerne Valley, California, she has carried her love for volleyball from her hometown to the global stage.
Lisa's passion for volleyball began at the age of 11, igniting a flame that would blaze brightly throughout her life. As a high school athlete, she swiftly rose through the ranks, securing a spot on the varsity team as a sophomore. Her dedication and prowess culminated in receiving the highly coveted Best Defensive Player Award during her senior year, a testament to her exceptional skills and unwavering commitment to excellence.
At the age of 18, Lisa embarked on a new adventure by enlisting in the United States Army. Her volleyball journey took her to South Korea, where she became an indispensable 8th Army volleyball team member, contributing her talent and determination for nearly two years. Her outstanding performance caught selectors' attention, earning her a place on the All-Army volleyball team.
Life took an exciting turn as Lisa and her husband Josh welcomed their first child, Ayden, who is now 12 years old. Lisa's family expanded further with the arrival of their 7-year-old daughter. Devoting herself to building her family, she took a temporary hiatus from competitive play, cherishing the moments spent nurturing her growing children.
However, duty called, and approximately a year after Ayden's birth, Coach Lisa deployed to Afghanistan. Even in a challenging environment, she found solace and joy on the volleyball court, using it as a valuable outlet while serving her country.
With her children growing older and more self-sufficient, Coach Lisa is now poised to reignite her passion for coaching and playing. Over the last six years, she has honed her coaching skills, mentoring young athletes in girls' clubs, recreation, and adult programs. Her wealth of experience as a player and a coach equips her with unique insights into the sport.
In addition to her coaching commitments, Coach Lisa remains an active player in A/AA women's and CoEd leagues and tournaments. Her love for the game remains unwavering, and she eagerly anticipates the opportunity to share her knowledge, expertise, and unwavering dedication with athletes of all levels.
Lisa is a proud mother of two wonderful children, a 12-year-old son, Ayden and her 7-year-old daughter, Arianna, Coach Lisa's family provides her with a strong support system that fuels her pursuit of excellence both on and off the court.
Once you become part of Coach Lisa's team, you'll discover that she is not just a coach for a season; she's a coach for life. Her commitment to her athletes extends beyond the court, fostering a sense of camaraderie, growth, and a lifelong love for the sport.
