DMV Volleyball Academy will be fielding a team of (11)*  skilled U14 players.  Our program is expected to be one of the most rigorous training programs in the Region.  The team is expected to be a competitive "CLUB" level team which will compete in selected multi-day tournaments and local AAU and CHRVA tournaments (Refer to tentative schedule below).

The U14 team is expected to practice twice per week.  During the training months of November and December as well as on non-tournament weekends from January thru May, the club may also hold "Academy" which will focus on specific skills (i.e. serving, passing, setting, team defense etc). Academy will be run by special instructors or by DMV Volleyball Academy coaches.

Our club is working to create a competitive environments for players to learn and reach their maximum potential. When understanding our club fees use these points to consider, practice time, coaches, and cost for tournaments. 

* At the discretion of the club 1 or 2 "practice players" will be considered depending on the circumstances of the team.  Practice players will not participate in any matches or tournaments unless specifically called upon by the Head Coach. 

Hello, I'm Coach Sherene - A passionate volleyball coach dedicated to cultivating a love for the game. My journey with volleyball began at 12 years old playing beach volleyball during the summers and continued through high school, where I honed my skills playing indoor volleyball for Gaithersburg High School. During my time there, I contributed significantly to the team's success, playing two years each on the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.

My commitment to the sport persisted in college, where I took on the role of Men's Club Volleyball Manager at Salisbury University for two impactful years. Transitioning to the women's club volleyball team, I excelled as a right-side player and proudly served as the captain, playing a vital role in starting the women's club volleyball culture on campus.

Following my collegiate career, I seamlessly transitioned into coaching, bringing my wealth of experience to Evolution in Alexandria, VA. Since 2020, I've been actively coaching both beach and indoor volleyball, nurturing the talents of aspiring players and fostering a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, skill development, and a deep understanding of the game, I aim to inspire and empower athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the court. I am dedicated to instilling the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in all my players.
